Stress, Exam Revision and Exams In General (My View and Advice and Benedict Cumberbatch)
My GCSE exams have just started so obviously I am quite tired from doing a lot of revision but, however I don't feel stressed at all but this was not always the case even in the minor exams (yr 8 exams/mocks). Other girls in my study are having panic attacks before exams but I'm not. My view is that I have worked hard to do well in these exams for example I tried to do at least 6 hours revision a day in the Easter holidays.
Also I don't get it when people come out of the exams they are constantly worrying about it but my view is that I've done it now so it is out of my hands so there is no use spending the rest of the summer worrying about it. There are a couple of girls in my study who look up the answers after an exam which is the worst thing you can possibly do as if you have got it wrong then you now that, that is a mark you have lost and it will always be there at the back of your mind.
Another problem I have before exams is nervousness, my heart always starts to beat faster and my hands start to shake (not very good for a subject like English where you have to do a lot of writing) so what I do is at the start of the exam when I first take my seat is I take a couple of deep breaths and think about something reassuring like how proud my parents are of me, how much work I have done so far or my dog (because he is very cute).I also listen to my favourite soothing songs the night before or read one of my favourite books so I can relax.
But in my experience Exams aren't as bad as people make them out to be as long as you are prepared and believe in yourself.
Remember: YOU CAN DO IT!
